Freya is a Clinical Psychologist who works with clients of all ages to help address emotional, behavioural, and mental health difficulties. She seeks to assist clients with the navigation of life transitions and distress, discovery of meaning and possibility, and reconnection with personal values. Her approach is open minded, supportive and respectful.
Freya has the skills to provide psychological treatment for a range of issues such as anxiety, panic, phobias, depression, trauma, bereavement, parenting challenges, anger management, personality disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, sleep disorders, eating disorders, family and relationship difficulties, and unresolved childhood issues.
Freya’s preferred forms of therapy include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprogramming (EMDR). She will happily adjust her therapeutic style to suit her clients’ individual preferences and needs.
Freya has extensive experience working with a diverse range of clients in general private practice. She has also previously worked more specifically in the areas of trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in military and civilian populations, and conducting psychological assessments in a hospital setting.
Freya has completed a Bachelor of Arts/Health Sciences, Honours in Psychology, and a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Adelaide, and is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA). Freya’s clients are eligible to claim a Medicare rebate when referred under a Mental Health Care Plan by a GP.
